David James Hartwick, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 23rd, 2026 at the age of 73 after a short battle with cancer. Born May 28th, 1952, he lived his entire life in Mountain Grove Ontario, and worked for the Canada Pacific Railway repairing and maintaining train tracks until his well-earned retirement at the age of 60.
Beloved husband of 49 years to Debby Hartwick, father of Ryan(Tina), Darcy(Angela), and Casey, grandfather of Alice, Winston, Evelyn, Caleb, Liana, Grace, Travis and Jessie and great grandfather of Chantal and Levi. David is survived by his sisters Marion and Joan. He is predeceased by his brothers Donnie, Percy and his sister Loretta. Uncle to many nieces and nephews, including Jim, Dale, and Dawson.
He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, joy of playing euchre with friends, love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
Visitation will be held at Milestone’s Funeral Home Parham Chapel at 11014 Road 38, Parham, Ontario on Friday, June 5th from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday, June 6th 10:30am to 11:30am. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at noon on Saturday, June 6th.
