Ivan Orval Fitchett

Passed away peacefully at the L&A Hospital on December 22 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Mary and the late Millie (deceased 1998). Dearly loved dad of Linda (Terry) Marks. Cherished Pop of Marty (Debbie) Marks and Kelly (Randy) Fraser and great grandchildren Danielle and Mitchell Fraser. Dear stepfather of Stephen Meeks (Vicky) and Stephanie Park. Step grandfather of Willie and Cheyenne and her family .

Predeceased by his parents Orval and Mary Fitchett, Hay Bay, brother Duane and sister Donna Normile. Survived by brother Les (Judy), sisters Rosemary (Jack) Spafford and Lorraine Shaw. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ivan was a long time member of Local 247 International Labourers Union and worked on many construction projects in this area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and continued these hobbies until recently when his health began to fail.

Cremation has taken place and at Ivan’s request there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Curran and the nursing staff at the L &A Hospital for the excellent care he received during the last weeks of his life.
