Jacquette "Jackie" (Brouse) Jackson

Lois Marie Jacquette JACKSON (nee BROUSE) December 12, 1928 – January 13, 2026

After a long-life journey, it is with deep sadness and heartache that we announce the passing away in her 98th year. As a Brouse, she was a fighter and lived independently through the end of her life in Plevna. Jackie passed under the care of the Doctor and Nursing staff at Perth & Smiths Falls Hospital (Perth). Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Brouse, her brothers, and sisters; Daisy, Warren, Hilyard (Martha Brouse), Burton, Gerald, Margaret and Len DesRoche.

Survived and loved by her daughters and sons in law; Linda and Milton Stewart, Deborah and Vern Martyn, Colleen Ryder; her Grandchildren, Amy (Jason), Nancy (Pierre), Sara, Sadie (Bill), Stephen; and her Great Grandchildren Katie (Zack), Jordan, Carson, Kendra, Lily, Davis and Lucy. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jackie worked hard all her life to support her three daughters working at Kellar’s General Store, Lemke’s General store, Lookout Lumber and Klatt Retirement home in Plevna.  In the 70’s her brother Hilyard gave her two acres of land from the Brouse Farm and her son-in-law; Milton built her house on James Road where she made it her home living alone until her passing.

In her younger years she also made quilts and enjoyed the outdoors, snow shoeing, and ice fishing.  In 1983, she started scrapbooking clipping local births, deaths, and world events and  happenings in the Plevna community.  These volumes of the scrapbooks will be turned over to the local historical society archives with the last submission being this tribute.

She enjoyed participating in various community events including running the weekly euchre games in support of the Anglican church, dinners, and other card parties.                                                 

At Jackie’s request, her wishes were to have a family internment in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church (Plevna), or Perth & Smith Falls Hospital Foundation, or North Frontenac Clar-Mill Fire Department.
