It is with profound sadness and devastation that the family of Susan announce her passing on the 5th of August 2025 in her 77th year under palliative care at home. Susan was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Bruce, daughter Laurel (Curtis) Schneider, son Jeffrey (partner Lesley) and son Iaian. Susan is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Maura, Logan, Keeley, Kieran and Grey whom she loved with all her heart and soul. She will be missed by a large and loving extended family as well.
Susan was born on the 21st of October 1948 and raised in Espanola, Ontario the daughter of James Milne and Lorraine Milne (Baird) (both predeceased) and sister Lynn (Les) Fitz.
Susan was retired from working for the Limestone District School Board as an educational assistant at the Sharbot Lake High School where her infectious smile, unconditional kindness and passion to educate were on full display. In her retirement Susan enjoyed many years vacationing in Playa del Carmen Mexico with Bruce, tending to her numerous gardens and beautiful lake front property which she loved. She could often be found along with Bruce and family touring Sharbot Lake on one of their many boats over the years.
The family would like to thank the palliative care nurses Heather and Michael, PSW’s Cristina, Tina and Kirk for their care and compassion shown to Susan and family.
Susan has been cremated under the care of Milestone Funeral Home, Parham Chapel. There will be no service or visitation. If so desired a donation can be made in Susan’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
