Walter Thompson Obituary THOMPSON, A. WALTER (Feb 10, 1952 - September 14, 2010) Peacefully at home in Amherstview, Walt passed away pain free in his sleep just as he had wished. His Struggle with cancer was over. Dear son of the late Delma & Gordon Thompson (stepfather Arnold Cronk.) Beloved husband of Pat. He leaves behind son Derek (Amy) and stepdaughter Sara (Seth) Vallier, four grand daughters Rebecca and Victoria Thompson and Madeleine and Katharine Vallier to mourn his passing. Also brothers Clifford (Margaret) and Arthur (Maureen), sisters Elsie (Jim) Warren and Reta. and many nieces and nephews. After forestry school he was employed with the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Bancroft and Algonquin area. Walt was an avid hunter and fisherman as he was most happy in the wilderness. In keeping with Walt's wishes he will be cremated. There will be no service at this time. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date. Donations may be mad to the Can Care Nursing Services of the Cancer Clinic of South Eastern Ontario in memory of Walt would be appreciated by his family.
