Wayne Akey

Passed away peacefully at the Belleville General Hospital on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the age of 69. Wayne will be forever missed by his best friend and companion Fay Ruttan of over 30 years. Beloved son of Violet and the late Lawson Akey. Cherished step-father of Pam Mayer (Luke), Tina Teeple (Jeremy), Johnny Wales (Chrissy) and Boyd Dodd (Carol).

Poppa Akey will be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Wanda Snider (late Bill), Wendy Akey, and Wes Akey (Tina). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his step-son Vernon Wales and sister Wilma Deshane (Bob).

The family will receive friends at the Milestone Funeral Home - Northbrook Chapel on Saturday, September 6, 2025  from 11am to 1pm. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in the chapel at 1pm.
